Episode summary
Probationary Constable Cristina Cidade is a keen kickboxer – skills she's hoping will help keep her safe on the beat in Sydney. Called to a violent arrest, she's confronted with a suspect who's running from police – and does not want to be caught.
Its better than him being paralysed. ALWAYS stabilise the head. If he starts to no breathe because of blocked airway they can always intubate. THe paramedics are trained for this job just like doctors are trained so stop being biased

Generally its a 3-year uni course to be a para in Australia, however NSW does have a 'crash course' kinda thing (which is what this series follows) where they spend 8 weeks in the classroom with intensive training on all the basics they will need, then they spend the next 3 years on an ambulance with a senior paramedic who will help train them. I would also assume they have modules and training to complete while they do it. Its like the 3yr uni course, but in an ambulance instead of a classroomUh, look I really don't know, but off the top of my head there are roughly 14 or so drugs that can be administered by NSW paramedics, including glycerine, atropine, midazolam, epinephrine, morphine, and a few others. (Obviously methoxyflourane would also be on that list, come to think of it)... but I really don't know, and am simply going off memory from years ago, so I am probably wrong. I imagine dexamethasone would be on that list too, come to think of it... but I have no real idea.
